AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah has offered his condolences to Qatari Emir Sheikh Tamim and to the Qatari people over the passing of formet emir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
In a post on his official account of X platform, the King wrote, “I extend my deepest condolences and heartfelt sympathies to His Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani and the people of Qatar on the passing of His Highness Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani.
“May God rest his soul in peace and bless and protect Qatar and its people,” the King said.
The father emir of Qatar, Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, has died at the age of 74, said the Amiri Diwan, the emir’s office and bureaucratic centre of the Gulf country.
“With hearts steadfast in faith in God’s decree and destiny, the Amiri Diwan mourns the great loss to the nation of the late – may God have mercy on him – His Highness the Father Amir Sheikh Hamad bin Khalifa Al Thani, who passed away this morning,” the Amiri Diwan said in a statement on Sunday.
