Safadi, Saudi counterpart, Arab League chief discuss regional de-escalation efforts

AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Ayman Safadi on Sunday discussed regional developments with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan.
During the phone call, the two ministers condemned Iran's repeated attacks on Arab countries and reaffirmed their rejection of any actions that undermine their security, sovereignty and stability.
The ministers also discussed regional developments, particularly efforts to restore security, de-escalate tensions and ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.

Also on Sunday, Safadi received a phone call from Arab League Secretary-General Nabil Fahmy, during which they discussed efforts to end regional escalation and achieve lasting security and stability.
Fahmy expressed the Arab League’s full solidarity with Jordan in confronting Iranian attacks.
They also discussed ways to enhance joint Arab action to serve Arab causes and interests, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
Safadi congratulated Fahmy on assuming his post as Arab League secretary-general and wished him success in his new duties.
He reiterated Jordan’s commitment to supporting and strengthening the role of the Arab League in promoting Arab solidarity and advancing Arab causes.
