AMMAN — A Jordanian cultural pavilion in Arlington, Texas, has attracted thousands of expatriates and international visitors on the sidelines of the 2026 FIFA World Cup, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities said on Saturday.
The “Jordanian House” initiative, organised by the ministry in cooperation with the Jordan Tourism Board (JTB), showcases a wide range of cultural, artistic and heritage activities designed to highlight Jordan’s national identity.
In a statement, the ministry said that Friday’s programme featured traditional dabke performances, live Arabic music, and interactive demonstrations of Arabic calligraphy and mosaic-making, alongside a performance by the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army (JAF) band.
The pavilion also screens live World Cup matches and includes promotional draws and giveaways sponsored by Royal Jordanian Airlines.
The cultural programme continued on Saturday ahead of a major public screening of the highly anticipated match between Jordan’s national football team (Al-Nashama) and Argentina on a giant outdoor screen.
The ministry said that the initiative aims to leverage the global sporting event to raise Jordan’s international profile and showcase its tourism and cultural assets to a diverse global audience attending the tournament.
