AMMAN — Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Imad Hijazeen and Director General of the Turkey Tourism Promotion and Development Agency (TGA) Sinan Seha Turkseven on Thursday discussed ways to boost tourist arrivals to Jordan through strategic partnerships, joint tourism packages and new marketing channels.

The meeting was held in Istanbul as part of a series of tourism engagements aimed at expanding Jordan’s presence in international markets, according to a Jordan Tourism Board (JTB) statement.

The meeting was attended by Jordanian Ambassador to Turkey Hazem Tamimi and representatives of the Jordan Hotel Association and the Jordan Inbound Tour Operators Association.

Discussions focused on attracting more Turkish tourists, developing joint tourism packages and leveraging Istanbul’s role as an international aviation hub to reach European and Asian markets.

The two sides also explored cooperation in digital marketing and the exchange of expertise in destination management.

Hijazeen said that the next phase required a shift from traditional promotional activities towards partnerships that translate into increased tourist arrivals, longer hotel stays and higher visitor spending.

He stressed the importance of coordinating government and diplomatic efforts with the private sector to strengthen Jordan’s competitiveness and promote the Kingdom as a diverse and sustainable tourist destination.
