AMMAN — Director of Military Media Brig. Gen. Mustafa Hiyari said that Jordanian air defenses dealt with 119 missiles and drones launched towards vital sites inside the country.

 

Speaking during a press briefing on Saturday, Hiyari said the Royal Jordanian Air Force successfully intercepted and shot down 108 of the projectiles, while 11 missiles and drones were not intercepted.

 

The briefing, presented jointly by the Jordan Armed Forces – Arab Army (JAF) and the Public Security Directorate, outlined figures and developments related to the impact of the ongoing involving Iran on the Kingdom.

 

He said that the armed forces had taken several precautionary measures to address the evolving situation. These included reinforcing units deployed along Jordan’s borders, strengthening border guard forces, and activating air defense systems within the operational ranges available to those systems.
