AMMAN — Palestinian Ambassador to Jordan Attallah Khairy praised His Majesty King Abdullah’s continued efforts, since the start of the Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip, to stop the assault and end the suffering of the people of Gaza, now ongoing for the third consecutive year.

 

In a statement to the Jordan News Agency, Petra, Khairy commended Jordan’s firm and steadfast positions in support of the Palestinian people, their inalienable and legitimate rights, their right to self-determination, and the establishment of an independent Palestinian state on their national soil with East Jerusalem as its capital.

 

Khairy said that Jordan is exerting tremendous efforts at the regional and international levels and playing a pivotal and central role across political, diplomatic and humanitarian fronts to alleviate the suffering faced by the Palestinian people in Gaza as a result of the Israeli aggression.

 

He noted that the Kingdom continues to receive successive groups of sick and injured Palestinian children from Gaza to receive the best medical, therapeutic, psychological and moral care at Jordanian hospitals, providing them and their companions with all necessary care and comfort throughout their treatment period.

 

Jordan’s highly qualified medical staff, recognised locally, regionally and internationally, offer the highest levels of medical attention and care, sparing no effort to ensure their recovery and safe return to their homeland so they can resume their normal lives, the diplomat said.

 

The Palestinian ambassador added that, under Royal directives, Jordan is consistently working to deliver humanitarian aid to the people of Gaza, who are facing an Israeli blockade.

 

Khairy stressed that His Majesty is sparing no effort to stop the war on the Palestinian people and open viable prospects for achieving the desired peace and stability in the region.

 

He conveyed the appreciation of the Palestinian people and their leadership to the King, the Jordanian government and the Jordanian people for their continued supportive stances towards Palestinian rights and for Jordan’s sincere efforts at all levels aimed at establishing an independent Palestinian state with East Jerusalem as its capital on the Palestinian national soil.
