Jordanian Army border guards in the Eastern Military Command on Friday thwarted an attempt by an armed group to illegally cross the Jordanian border, a statement by the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) said. 

 

After detecting the group, border guards applied rules of engagement, leading to an exchange of fire. Two of the suspects were killed, and the rest of the group retreated, the statement added.
