Cold and unstable winter weather prevailed over Jordan’s capital Amman on Friday as the region came under the influence of an atmospheric disturbance characterized by daytime rain and nighttime fog.
A noticeable drop in temperatures accompanied the system, marking a sharp transition from previous days.
Cloudy Skies and Daytime Showers
Meteorological forecasts indicate that the weather will remain mostly cloudy throughout the day.
Scattered rain showers are expected intermittently during the morning, noon, and afternoon hours.
The daytime high is projected to reach 10°C (50°F), representing a 3-degree decrease compared to Thursday's temperatures.
Frigid Night and Visibility Alerts
As evening approaches, the probability of precipitation is expected to diminish, giving way to light fog and mist that could persist until dawn. The overnight low will plunge to 4°C (39°F), a 4-degree drop from the previous night.
Local authorities advise motorists to exercise extreme caution due to reduced visibility and the risk of slick roads during the late-night and early-morning hours.
Weekend Outlook
According to the weather bulletin, conditions will gradually stabilize starting Saturday. Skies are expected to clear with a slight rise in the daytime high to 11°C (52°F), though nighttime temperatures will remain bitterly cold at approximately 3°C (37°F).
By Sunday, a further warming trend is anticipated, with temperatures climbing to a high of 14°C (57°F) under mostly clear skies.
