JAF evacuates new group of sick Gaza children

The Jordan Times

AMMAN — The Jordan Armed Forces–Arab Army (JAF) on Monday evacuated the 24th group of sick children from the Gaza Strip, comprising 18 patients and 33 accompanying family members, under the “Jordanian Medical Corridor” initiative launched in line with Royal directives.

The evacuated children will receive medical treatment in Jordanian hospitals as part of the Kingdom’s ongoing medical and humanitarian efforts to provide healthcare and medical support to Palestinians in Gaza, according to a JAF statement.

The medical evacuations, launched in March 2025, were implemented in coordination with the Ministry of Health and the World Health Organisation (WHO), following the highest medical and humanitarian standards.

The Jordanian Medical Corridor, launched by His Majesty King Abdullah, provides ongoing care for sick children from Gaza and forms part of Jordan’s wider humanitarian efforts.

Jordan runs two military field hospitals in Gaza, one in the Strip's north and was established in 2009 following the war in 2008, and the second is in Khan Younis in the south, which was established in November 2023 at the peak of the Israeli war of aggression on the coastal enclave that erupted on October 7, 2023.

Besides the field hospitals in Gaza, the JAF established the Jordanian field hospital in Nablus in late November 2023.
