The media spokesperson for the Public Security Directorate (PSD) said Monday that the investigation teams in the Criminal Investigation Department relaunched an investigation a few weeks ago into an armed robbery case which occurred in 2018.

 

 

Jan. 24, 2018, an unknown person entered a bank branch in the Wihdat area with a gun in his possession and stole an amount of JD 76,000 after he threatened the employees with the gun. He fled the scene immediately and his identity was not determined at the time.

 

The media spokesperson confirmed that the special investigation teams have been working over the past few weeks on reinvestigating the incident which enabled them to obtain new information about the case.

 

Following investigations, the suspect was found and arrested, and by interrogation he confessed to committing the crime.

 

The investigation is still ongoing in preparation for his transfer to the judiciary.
