AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Tuesday held a series of calls with regional and international counterparts and received French Minister Delegate to the Minister for the Armed Forces and Veterans Alice Rufo, during which he discussed bilateral relations and regional developments.

 

Safadi spoke separately with Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan, Egyptian Foreign Minister Badr Abdelatty, Syrian Foreign Minister Asaad Al Shaibani, Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan, Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman Al Thani, Tunisian Foreign Minister Mohamed Ali Nafti, Indonesian Foreign Minister Sugiono and Pakistani Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar.

 

In a call with Prince Faisal, the two ministers discussed regional developments and joint efforts to preserve security and stability, as well as ensuring freedom of maritime navigation in line with international law, according to the Foreign Ministry.

 

They also reiterated their condemnation of attacks carried out by Iran and affiliated militias in Yemen and Iraq targeting Jordan, Saudi Arabia and other countries in the region.

 

During talks with Abdelatty, Safadi reaffirmed the depth of Jordanian-Egyptian relations, with both sides stressing the importance of continued coordination on bilateral issues and regional developments.

 

The two ministers discussed developments in the occupied Palestinian Territories, condemning Israeli violations and the escalating situation in the West Bank, Jerusalem and Gaza. They called for an end to measures they said undermine the two-state solution and regional stability.

 

They also stressed the importance of implementing all provisions of US President Donald Trump’s plan to stabilise Gaza, ensuring the sustained delivery of humanitarian aid and creating conditions for advancing to subsequent stages of the initiative.

 

Safadi and Abdelatty reviewed wider regional developments, including efforts to maintain the ceasefire between the United States and Iran, resume negotiations and prioritise diplomacy to prevent further escalation.

 

Abdelatty reaffirmed Egypt’s solidarity with Jordan in the face of Iranian attacks and rejected any violation of the Kingdom’s sovereignty, while Safadi expressed appreciation for Cairo’s support.

 

In his call with Al Shaibani, Safadi affirmed Jordan’s commitment to strengthening relations with Syria and expanding cooperation across political, economic, defence and security fields.

 

The two ministers discussed regional efforts to end escalation, stressing the importance of maintaining the US-Iran ceasefire and supporting negotiations aimed at achieving lasting security and stability while respecting state sovereignty, good-neighbourly relations and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

 

They also discussed developments in the West Bank, Lebanon’s security and stability, and Israeli attacks on Syria. Safadi reiterated Jordan’s support for Syria’s security, stability, unity and sovereignty, as well as its reconstruction efforts.

 

In talks with Fidan, Safadi discussed regional developments, efforts to halt escalation and the deteriorating situation in the occupied Palestinian territories.

 

The ministers stressed the need to maintain the US-Iran ceasefire, resume negotiations and reach a comprehensive solution addressing the causes of regional tensions while safeguarding freedom of navigation.

 

They also condemned Israeli measures in the occupied West Bank and violations at Al Aqsa Mosque/Al Haram Al Sharif, rejecting attempts to alter the historic and legal status quo in Jerusalem and its holy sites.

 

Safadi and Fidan further reviewed bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.

 

During a call with Sheikh Mohammed, Safadi discussed regional developments and efforts to reinforce security and stability.

 

The two ministers stressed that dialogue and diplomacy remain the only path towards resolving the crisis and called for a comprehensive agreement addressing the roots of regional tensions.

 

They also discussed the situation in the occupied Palestinian territories, condemning measures they described as violations of international law and calling for greater regional and international efforts to ensure compliance with international humanitarian law.

 

Safadi and Nafti reviewed Jordanian-Tunisian relations and ways to expand cooperation, while also discussing developments in the occupied West Bank and what they described as violations against Al Aqsa Mosque and Al Haram Al Sharif.

 

The ministers condemned Israeli actions in the Palestinian territories, warning that continued escalation threatens regional stability and prospects for a just and lasting peace.

 

They also stressed the importance of diplomacy and dialogue in supporting the US-Iran ceasefire and reaching a comprehensive agreement that ensures regional stability and freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz.

 

Safadi and Sugiono discussed bilateral cooperation and regional developments, including the situation in the occupied West Bank and Gaza.

 

The two ministers called for halting Israeli measures in the West Bank, warning that continued escalation and violations at Al Aqsa Mosque risk further instability and undermine peace efforts.

 

They also called for implementing all elements of Trump’s plan to stabilise Gaza and ensure the continued delivery of humanitarian assistance.

 

In his call with Dar, Safadi discussed ways to strengthen Jordan-Pakistan relations and reviewed regional developments.

 

The two ministers stressed the importance of maintaining the US-Iran ceasefire and reaching a comprehensive solution that guarantees freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz while addressing regional tensions.

 

Safadi praised Pakistan’s role in efforts to defuse the crisis and support a lasting solution.

 

They also discussed developments in the occupied West Bank, condemning Israeli measures at Al Aqsa Mosque and calling for coordinated international efforts to address them.

 

Safadi and Dar exchanged views on regional and international issues of mutual interest.
