The Libyan National Army – led by Marshal Khalifa Haftar– said Sunday that its forces have made new advances on ground in the capital for the second day in a row against armed militias loyal to Fayez al-Sarraj’s Government of National Accord (GNA).

In this context, LNA’s Military Information Division announced that the remaining militias in Aziziya have fled – it added that the LNA is keeping a number of the mercenaries’ bodies of foreigners affiliated with Osama al-Juwaili (a top military leader of Sarraj government).

The division stated that the mercenaries’ positions were located and accurately targeted by the army.

In an earlier statement on Sunday, the division revealed that the LNA forces progressed in Aziziya during the military operation that was backed by an aerial cover-up. The army forces seized new sites after destroying several vehicles for the militias who backed off.

LNA Karama operations media center announced that the militias’ toll is more than 90 and the injured exceeds 150 during the past two days due to the aerial bombardment, the shelling and direct clashes.

Further, a military source from the Volcano of Rage operation affirmed that 11 were killed while dozens were wounded. In a statement, the operation said on Sunday that its forces reinforced its positions in El-Sbeaa axis and arrested members from the LNA forces.

The Volcano of Rage added that it reinforced its positions at the Yarmouk camp axis and the missile camp after its success in dealing with the LNA remnants. It added that its forces defied foreign aviation that backed the LNA in Tripoli in a desperate attempt to pave the way for criminals to advance towards the capital.
