AMMAN — There are currently no indications of heavy rainfall associated with the atmospheric instability expected to affect the Kingdom on Sunday morning, according to Jordan Meteorological Department (JMD) forecaster Mosaed Naddaf.

 

Naddaf told Al Mamlaka TV on Saturday that rainfall is expected to be concentrated in Ajloun, Irbid, Ramtha, the Northern Valley, parts of the Middle Valley, Salt and western Amman.

 

The unstable weather conditions will be accompanied by westerly winds, which will pick up at times and may generate dust storms in eastern parts of the Kingdom.

 

The JMD warned of reduced horizontal visibility due to dust, particularly in Badia areas, as well as fog over high mountain elevations and slippery roads during rainfall.

 

Naddaf said the atmospheric instability would be short-lived, with weather conditions gradually stabilising by Sunday afternoon and becoming fully stable on Monday.

 

On Sunday, temperatures will drop further, with partly cloudy and moderate conditions expected across most areas, while the Jordan Valley, the Dead Sea and Aqaba will remain relatively hot. Light morning showers may affect northern regions and parts of the central-western areas, occasionally accompanied by thunder in the north.

 

Temperatures are expected to rise slightly on Monday, bringing moderate summer conditions to most areas, with northwesterly moderate to brisk winds.
