The Israeli occupation continues its aggression on the Gaza Strip for the 190th consecutive day, leaving behind tens of thousands of martyrs, wounded, and massive destruction of infrastructure and way of life.

“Israeli” settler violence continues to escalate in the West Bank following the death of a 14-year-old settler yesterday morning in Ramallah.

Settlers, with support from the Israeli Occupation Forces (IOF), raided several Palestinian villages, burning homes and vehicles, and targeting civilians, resulting in deaths and dozens of injuries.

The United States Department of the Treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has taken action against Hamas - targeting the Gaza and Lebanon-based leaders of the group concerned with cyber and unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) operations. The European Union is also imposing sanctions targeting Hamas concurrently.

According to the Treasury Department's statement, the sanctions have targeted Al-Qassam Brigades’ Spokesperson Abu Obaida, who the US claims to be known as Hudhayfa Samir Abdallah al-Kahlut.

The list also included William Abu Shanab (Abu Shanab), the commander of the Lebanon-based al-Shimali unit, which is supported by Hamas’s Construction Bureau in Lebanon and has operations across Lebanon.

Abu Shanab’s assistant, Bara’a Hasan Farhat, is also among the sanctioned individuals by the US Treasury Department.

The sanctions entail that all property and interests in property of the designated persons described above that are in the United States or in the possession or control of US persons are blocked and must be reported to the treasury’s Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC).

In addition, non-U.S. financial institutions and other persons that engage in certain transactions or activities with sanctioned entities and individuals may expose themselves to sanctions risk or be subject to an enforcement action - according to the statement.

In the latest death toll released by Palestinian Ministry of Health in Gaza, the number of martyrs had risen to 33,634 and 76,214 injuries since Oct. 7, 2023.
