AMMAN — The Income and Sales Tax Department has urged companies, businesses and individuals to take advantage of the Cabinet’s decision to extend the work of the Tax Settlement and Reconciliation Committee, noting that applications must be submitted by the end of June.
The department said the decision enables taxpayers to settle outstanding income and sales tax claims due up to December 31, 2024, and benefit from the exemptions and facilities granted under the approved framework, according to the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
It noted that the measure offers taxpayers an opportunity to regularise their tax status and settle outstanding liabilities while avoiding the continued accumulation of penalties.
Applications for settlement or instalment plans can be submitted electronically through the department’s website, allowing taxpayers to complete the process without additional fees, either directly or through a legal representative.
The department stressed that the settlement covers all outstanding income and sales tax claims due by the end of 2024, regardless of their value, including cases subject to final court rulings, with the exception of tax evasion cases.
It renewed its call on taxpayers with outstanding tax obligations to submit their applications before the end-of-June deadline in order to benefit from the available exemptions and facilities.
