AMMAN — The total value of exports issued by the Zarqa Chamber of Industry reached $1.504 billion last year, slightly down from $1.533 billion in 2024, according to Chamber Chairman Fares Hammoudeh.

 

Hammoudeh was quoted in Al Mamlaka as saying that the number of certificates of origin issued rose by 6 per cent to 20,514 last year, compared with 19,364 in 2024, indicating continued momentum in industrial activity. He noted that industrial exports recorded growth in most months of 2025 compared with the previous year.

 

North American markets accounted for 46 per cent of total exports, valued at $691 million, despite an 11 per cent decline year-on-year. The United States remained the largest destination within the region, with exports totalling $663.9 million, down 10 per cent, while exports to Canada fell by 35 per cent to $22.8 million.

 

Exports to Arab countries posted strong growth, rising by 15 per cent to $603.1 million and representing 40 per cent of total exports, up from $526.4 million in 2024. Iraq topped the list of Arab importers with $253 million in exports, marking a 25 per cent increase, followed by Saudi Arabia at $156.4 million, up 26 per cent. Algeria ranked third with exports of $48.6 million, recording the highest growth rate at 112 per cent.

 

Exports to non-Arab Asian markets totalled $98.04 million, accounting for about 7 per cent of total exports and reflecting a slight 2 per cent decline compared with 2024. India led these markets with $10.4 million in exports, up 46 per cent, followed by Japan at $5.3 million, down 7 per cent, and China at $3.9 million, down 42 per cent.

 

Exports to European Union countries reached $42.9 million, or 3 per cent of total exports, marking a 35 per cent decline compared with 2024. The Netherlands was the leading EU destination with exports valued at $14.7 million, followed by Greece at $9 million and the United Kingdom at $6.7 million.

 

Exports to non-Arab African countries amounted to $2.8 million last year, up 17 per cent from 2024. South Africa topped the list with $1.6 million in exports, followed by Guinea with $1 million.
