AMMAN — Municipalities, joint services councils, and municipal affairs directorates across the Kingdom have intensified field preparations ahead of Flag Day, which falls on Thursday.

 

In a statement, the Ministry of Local Administration said on Tuesday that field teams are working to raise around 700,000 Jordanian flags of various sizes across streets, squares, and public spaces, as part of efforts to enhance the Kingdom’s visual landscape and highlight the national flag’s symbolic significance and its place in the national identity.

 

The initiatives also include hoisting the flag on municipal and public buildings to reflect the importance of the national occasion.

 

The ministry, in cooperation with municipalities’ social media platforms and national institutions, has launched the slogan “Our Flag is High,” in celebration of the Jordanian flag and to emphasise national unity under the Hashemite leadership.

 

Municipalities and joint services councils have also rolled out community initiatives, including distributing flags to schools and vehicles, providing handheld flags, and decorating public and institutional spaces, in a bid to reinforce national values and strengthen community engagement with the occasion.
