Minister of Investment discusses cooperation with the Syrian Investment Commission

AMMAN — Minister of Investment Tareq Abu Ghazaleh on Sunday received the Chairman of the Syrian Investment Authority Talal Hilali, and an accompanying delegation to discuss enhancing bilateral economic ties.
During the discussions, Abu Ghazaleh highlighted the deep-rooted brotherly relations between Jordan and Syria, underscoring the directives of His Majesty King Abdullah to provide all forms of support to Syria, particularly in capacity building and the exchange of expertise and best practices, the Jordan News Agency, Petra, reported.
The minister affirmed the government's commitment to expanding cooperation and strengthening investment partnerships with the Syrian Investment Authority to serve the mutual interests of both peoples and support sustainable development and economic integration.
Abu Ghazaleh called on the private sectors in both countries to capitalise on available opportunities to consolidate commercial and industrial integration. He also stressed the importance of building joint value chains that support sustainable growth and provide added value to both economies.
For his part, Hilali emphasised the importance of boosting economic and investment cooperation with Jordan and benefiting from the Kingdom’s experience in developing a “conducive” investment environment.
He noted that expanding partnerships and exchanging expertise would support reconstruction efforts and achieve sustainable development for the benefit of both nations.
The visit included an expanded meeting featuring the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Investment, the Director of Economic Affairs and International Cooperation at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, the Director-General of the Association of Banks in Jordan, and the Chairman of the Jordanian Businessmen Association.
