AMMAN — Lebanon’s High Relief Committee on Thursday announced the arrival of the second Jordanian aid convoy at the Masnaa border crossing, carrying essential medical and relief supplies.
Jordan’s Ambassador to Lebanon Walid Hadid and a delegation from the Jordanian embassy received the convoy alongside a committee delegation headed by Secretary-General Brig. Gen. Bassam Nabulsi, Al Mamlaka TV reported.
Hadid noted that the 15-truck convoy was dispatched in implementation of Royal directives to support the Lebanese people.
The shipment includes 5,544 food parcels, 2,427 packages of emergency medical supplies, 7,320 blankets, and 1,584 hygiene kits.
For his part, Nabulsi expressed his gratitude to Jordan and His Majesty King Abdullah for their steadfast support for Lebanon across all levels.
The convoy, which departed earlier on Thursday, is part of Jordan’s ongoing humanitarian response to the situation in Lebanon.
Jordan Hashemite Charity Organisation (JHCO) Secretary-General Hussein Shibli said that the mission underscores the Kingdom’s consistent humanitarian role in supporting other nations during crises.
The initiative was carried out by the JHCO, in cooperation with the Jordan Armed Forces-Arab Army, and in coordination with the Foreign Ministry.
Shibli emphasised that the Jordanian movement is a response to an urgent humanitarian duty, asserting that this commitment will remain continuous as long as the need persists.
He added that this step builds upon previous Jordanian efforts, which included a 25-truck aid convoy dispatched last March, following Royal directives to support the Lebanese people amidst challenging circumstances.
