AMMAN — Prime Minister Jafar Hassan on Sunday received the 22nd annual report on the status of human rights in Jordan for 2025, issued by the National Centre for Human Rights (NCHR).

 

Hassan received the report during a meeting at the Prime Ministry with Chairperson of the NCHR Board of Trustees Samar Haj Hasan and Commissioner General for Human Rights Jamal Shamayleh.

 

The meeting, attended by Minister of State for Prime Ministry Affairs Abdullatif Najdawi, reviewed the report’s main findings and recommendations aimed at further consolidating the human rights framework in Jordan, according to a Prime Ministry statement.

 

Also on Sunday, Lower House Speaker Mazen Qadi received a copy of the report during a meeting with Haj Hasan and Shamayleh.

 

Qadi stressed that the House accords top priority to human rights and public freedoms, reflecting the Kingdom’s efforts to strengthen the human rights framework and uphold the rule of law, in line with Royal directives, according to a Lower House statement.

 

He added that Lower House will give the centre’s reports full attention, noting that the House’s specialised committees will examine the observations and recommendations contained in the report.

 

For her part, Haj Hasan commended the centre’s partnership with the Lower, highlighting the importance of implementing the annual recommendations within Parliament’s legislative and oversight roles.
