AMMAN — Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ayman Safadi on Friday held separate phone calls with Norwegian Foreign Minister Espen Eide and Greek Foreign Minister George Gerapetritis to discuss the escalating tensions in the region.
Safadi warned of the grave consequences of the ongoing escalation, pointing to Israel’s strike on Iran, its intensified aggression on Gaza, ongoing operations in Syria and Lebanon, and persistent violations in the occupied West Bank.
He described these actions as "clear breaches of international law and part of a sustained pattern of Israeli escalation in the absence of an effective international response."
Safadi also underscored the urgent need for a coordinated international effort to de-escalate the situation, prevent further deterioration, and protect the region from sliding into broader conflict, according to a Foreign Ministry statement.
