Five people injured from falling object in Irbid — PSD

AMMAN — Five people were injured on Friday night from a falling object believed to from an Iranian missile on their house in the northern city of Irbid, official sources said.
 
The injured were transferred to the hospital and were reported to be in good condition, according to Police Spokesperson Lt. Col. Amer Sartawi.
 
Specialised team experts from the PSD and the army opened an investigation into the incident, Sartawi told The Jordan Times.
 
Irbid residents reported seeing dozens of Iranian rockets crossing over their residential areas.
 
Some Irbid citizens published photos posing with what they stated were unexploded Iranian missiles that fell in empty lots.
 
In the early hours of Friday, Israel launched a large-scale airstrike operation, named “Lion’s Rage,” against vital and sensitive Iranian targets.
 
The Iranian government confirmed the death of several senior figures in the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC), including high-ranking commanders and nuclear scientists.
 
The Iranian leadership vowed to avenge and late Friday night launched dozens of missiles and drones targeting several Israeli cities.
 
Meanwhile, Minister of Government Communication and Government Spokesperson Mohammad Momani on Saturday that the relevant authorities is continuing to perform their duties and operate with high readiness to address the exceptional circumstances facing the region.
 
“Our top priority is to protect the nation's security and the safety of its citizens,” Momani was quoted by the Jordan News Agency, Petra.
 
The minister stressed that since the morning, “we took the necessary measures to protect our country and our citizens”.
 
“All the relevant entities were on high alert since Friday dawn in the presence of Prime Minister Jafar Hassan,” Momani stated.
 
The minister revealed that several objects fell from the sky in various parts of the Kingdom.
 
“The relevant authorities covered all the areas where the objects fell by protecting the safety and security of the residents in these areas,” Momani stated.
 
The minister stated that there were no human losses or destruction to any properties as a result of the falling objects.
 
On Friday, Momani stressed that Jordan has never allowed and will never allow any violation of its airspace, reaffirming that the Kingdom will not be a battleground for any conflict.
 
Momani said that Jordan’s national security is a “red line, and that the Kingdom will not allow any attempt to threaten its security and the safety of its citizens.”
 
Momani urged intensified international efforts to restore calm and prevent further escalation in the region.
 
The minister warned against circulating any misleading videos or misinformation, stressing the importance of obtaining information from official sources.
