King, Crown Prince commend Nashama for Arab Cup runner-up finish

AMMAN — His Majesty King Abdullah has commended the “Nashama” for their performance in the Arab Cup, commending Jordanians’ unity and support for the national football team after finishing as runners-up following an extra-time loss to Morocco in Thursday’s final.
The King wrote on X, “We saw Jordanians united as one heart, a team and a crowd reflecting all that is beautiful in this homeland. In the national team, Jordanians see themselves: authentic, resilient and full of love. Jordan is fortunate to have you, Nashama.
“We are all proud of you and of what you have achieved. Praise be to God for your safe return and welcome home. You have illuminated the nation.”
HRH Crown Prince Hussein also expressed pride in the Jordanian national football team (Nashamah), praising the players, coaching and administrative staff, and all who have contributed over the years to the development of Jordanian football.
He also commended the continuous support provided by HRH Prince Ali for the advancement of the sport in the Kingdom.
In an Instagram post, the Crown Prince said, "Thanks to the national team players, my uncle HRH Prince Ali for his ongoing support, the coaching and administrative staff for their efforts, and everyone who has contributed over the years to the development of Jordanian football. Special thanks to the loyal fans for their support and presence at matches. Congratulations to our brothers in Morocco on winning the tournament, and thanks to Qatar for the excellent organisation.”
The Jordanian national team (Nashamah) returned home on Friday. They dominated their group in the FIFA Arab Cup, starting with a 2-1 victory against the UAE, followed by a 3-1 win over Kuwait and a 3-0 triumph against Egypt. In the knockout rounds, they beat Iraq and Saudi Arabia 1-0 each, before falling 3-2 to Morocco in extra time in the final.
The achievement reflects the growing level of Jordanian football and is credited to sustained Royal support and systematic preparation of the team, both technically and physically. It has also strengthened public confidence in Nashama’s ability to continue achieving positive results in the 2026 World Cup and future competitions.
