PARIS — France on Sunday called on Palestinian leaders to go back on their decision postponing legislative elections to next year.

 

The delay "deprives the Palestinian people of their right to democratically express themselves at the ballot box" for the first national elections in two decades, the French foreign ministry said in a statement.

 

 

Palestinian president Mahmoud Abbas on Saturday pushed back the legislative vote, which had been scheduled for November 28, to September next year, alongside a presidential poll.
